OUR VISION

Every tradition deserves a contemporary voice.

India is home to hundreds of artistic traditions.

Each carries its own visual language, philosophy and history.

Most are preserved. Few continue to evolve.

UNKAHA exists to reinterpret these traditions through contemporary clothing—building an archive, one collection at a time.

THE LIVING ARCHIVE

A journey across India.
An archive in progress.

We study, understand and reinterpret the artistic traditions of India—region by region. This map shows our journey so far.

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

UNKAHA began with a simple question.

Why do so many of India's artistic traditions remain confined to museums and textbooks, while so few continue to evolve through contemporary design?

Every collection is our attempt to answer that question.

This archive begins with two chapters.
I hope you'll be here for the next hundred.
